ABSTRACT

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of xenogeneic acellular dermal matrix (ADM) dressings for the treatment of wounds in burn patients. Methods: The meta-analysis method was adopted. Databases including Chinese Journal Full-text Database, Wanfang Database, VIP Database, and Chinese Biomedical Database were retrieved with the search terms in Chinese version of ", , , " and PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library were retrieved with the search terms in English version of "xenogeneic acellular dermal matrix, dressing, burn wound, burn" to obtain the publicly published randomized controlled trials on the efficacy of xenogeneic ADM dressings for the treatment of wounds in burn patients from the establishment of each database to December 2021. The outcome indexes included wound healing time, ratio of scar hyperplasia, Vancouver scar scale (VSS) score, ratio of complications, ratio of skin grafting, and ratio of bacteria detection. Rev Man 5.3 and Stata 14.0 statistical softwares were used to conduct a meta-analysis of eligible studies. Results: A total of 1 596 burn patients from 16 studies were included, including 835 patients in experimental group who received xenogeneic ADM dressings therapy and 761 patients in control group who received other methods therapy. The bias risk of all the 16 included studies was uncertain. Compared with those in control group, patients in experimental group had significantly shorter wound healing time, lower VSS scores (with standardized mean differences of -2.50 and -3.10, 95% confidence intervals of -3.02--1.98 and -4.87--1.34, respectively, P values both <0.05), and lower ratios of scar hyperplasia, complications, skin grafting, and bacteria detection (with relative risks of 0.58, 0.23, 0.32, and 0.27, 95% confidence intervals of 0.43-0.80, 0.14-0.37, 0.15-0.67, and 0.11-0.69, respectively, P<0.05). Subgroup analysis showed that the difference of intervention measures in control group might be the source of heterogeneity in wound healing time. There was no publication bias in ratio of scar hyperplasia (P≥0.05), while there was publication bias in wound healing time, VSS score, and ratio of complications (P<0.05). Conclusions: Xenogeneic ADM dressings can shorten the wound healing time of burn patients, reduce the VSS score and the ratios of scar hyperplasia, complications, skin grafting, and bacteria detection.

ABSTRACT

Two cardenolide glycosides, corotoxigenin 3-O-[β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→4)-6-deoxy-β-D-glucopyranoside] (1) and coroglaucigenin 3-O-[β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→4)-6-deoxy-β-D-glucopyranoside] (2), were isolated from the seed fairs of Asclepias curassavica. The structures of 1-2 were determined based on the combination of the analysis of their MS, NMR spectroscopic data and acid hydrolysis. The inhibitory effects of compounds 1 and 2 on human colorectal carcinoma cells (HCT116), non-small cell lung carcinoma cells (A549) and hepatic cancer cells (SMMC-7721) were evaluated. The results showed that both compounds 1 and 2 significantly inhibited the viability, proliferation, and migration of A549, HCT116 and SMMC-7721 cells, suggesting that compounds 1 and 2 can be applied in the treatment of lung, colon and liver cancers in clinical practice. This study may not only provide a scientific basis for clarifying the active ingredients in A. curassavica, but also help to understand its antitumor activity, which can promote the application of A. curassavica in clinical treatment of various cancers.

ABSTRACT

@#In recent years, considerable progress has been made in the study of glaucoma, especially primary open angle glaucoma(POAG). A series of POAG genes has been identified through genetic linkage analysis and genome-wide association studies(GWAS), which significantly advanced the study of glaucoma genetics. The latest perspective suggests that glaucoma is a disease of the central nervous system(CNS). A large number of basic clinical studies have demonstrated the close association between CNS disease and glaucoma. Among these studies, discoveries related to genetics are of prominence.

ABSTRACT

LBD(lateral organ boundaries)transcription factors play an important role in the regulation of plant growth, development and secondary metabolism. In order to explore the function of LBD genes in cannabis, the Cannabis sativa genome and transcriptome were used to identify the C. sativa LBD gene family, and analyzed their expression patterns. Our results showed that the cannabis LBD contains 32 members, which were divided into two major categories, seven sub-families. Class Ⅰ was divided into 5 sub-families, named Class Ⅰ_a to Class Ⅰ_e, while Class Ⅱ was divided into 2 sub-families, including Class Ⅱ_a and Class Ⅱ_b. Analysis showed that the number of amino acids encoded LBDs was between 172 and 356, and the isoelectric point was between 4.92 and 9.43. The mole-cular weight of LBD was between 18 862.92 Da and 40 081.33 Da, and most members are located in the nucleus. Chromosome positioning of LBD showed that 32 members were unevenly distributed on 10 chromosomes of C. sativa LBD transcription factor domain, gene structure and motifs are relatively conservative, and the characteristics of different class members are similar. The upstream promoter region of the gene contains a variety of cis-acting elements related to plant hormones and environmental factors, C. sativa LBD genes have different expression patterns in the stems, leaves, and flowers of ZYS varieties(low tetrahydrocannabinol, high cannabidiol). The members of the LBD gene family are mainly expressed in the flowers and stems of ZYS varieties, while members expressed in the leaves very few; Class Ⅱ members CsLBD21 and CsLBD23 are expressed in flowers and stems, and CsLBD8 and CsLBD18 are expressed in flowers, stems and leaves. These genes may participate in the growth and development of cannabis and affect the biosynthesis of cannabinoids. This study laid the foundation for the subsequently functional research of the cannabis LBD gene family.

ABSTRACT

Camptotheca acuminata produces camptothecin (CPT), a monoterpene indole alkaloid (MIA) that is widely used in the treatment of lung, colorectal, cervical, and ovarian cancers. Its biosynthesis pathway has attracted significant attention, but the regulation of CPT biosynthesis by the APETALA2/ethylene-responsive factor (AP2/ERF) transcription factors (TFs) remains unclear. In this study, a systematic analysis of the AP2/ERF TFs family in C. acuminata was performed, including phylogeny, gene structure, conserved motifs, and gene expression profiles in different tissues and organs (immature bark, cotyledons, young flower, immature fruit, mature fruit, mature leaf, roots, upper stem, and lower stem) of C. acuminata. A total of 198 AP2/ERF genes were identified and divided into five relatively conserved subfamilies, including AP2 (26 genes), DREB (61 genes), ERF (92 genes), RAV (18 genes), and Soloist (one gene). The combination of gene expression patterns in different C. acuminata tissues and organs, the phylogenetic tree, the co-expression analysis with biosynthetic genes, and the analysis of promoter sequences of key enzymes genes involved in CPT biosynthesis pathways revealed that eight AP2/ERF TFs in C. acuminata might be involved in CPT synthesis regulation, which exhibit relatively high expression levels in the upper stem or immature bark. Among these, four genes (CacAP2/ERF123, CacAP2/ERF125, CacAP2/ERF126, and CacAP2/ERF127) belong to the ERF-B2 subgroup; two genes (CacAP2/ERF149 and CacAP2/ERF152) belong to the ERF-B3 subgroup; and two more genes (CacAP2/ERF095 and CacAP2/ERF096) belong to the DREB-A6 subgroup. These results provide a foundation for future functional characterization of the AP2/ERF genes to enhance the biosynthesis of CPT compounds of C. acuminata.

ABSTRACT

Stroke is a devastating cerebrovascular event that occurs as a result of cerebral vascular occlusion (ischemic stroke) or burst/bleeding (hemorrhagic stroke) leading to cerebral blood flow disruption, causing physical disability and multiple functional impairment. The incidence of ischemic stroke is higher than hemorrhagic stroke, accounting for more than half of the total incidence of stroke. The main cause of the disease is caused by atherosclerosis, various arteritis, trauma and other plaques that cause cerebral vascular disease, which may be caused by a variety of cardiovascular diseases such as atrial fibrillation. Blood, caused by blocking blood vessels in the brain. Due to the complexity of the causes of ischemic stroke, the pathogenesis and development mechanism are complex and diverse, such as energy failure, excitotoxicity, neuroinflammation, apoptosis and oxidative stress. Traditional Chinese medicine and compound have the characteristics of multi-component, multi-target, multi-effect, and can be applied to the treatment of different stages of stroke occurrence and development. Therefore, an in-depth understanding of the pathological process and related mechanisms of ischemic stroke, and the development of targeted drugs, is important to prevent the occurrence of ischemic stroke and control its development. In this paper, the timeline of the occurrence and development of ischemic stroke is the main line. The pathological process and related mechanisms are systematically reviewed. The most widely used traditional Chinese medicine and compound in clinical and basic research are summarized, in order to study the pathological study of ischemic stroke. Clinical treatment provides a theoretical basis and data reference.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the expressions of molecular markers associated with epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells so as to lay foundation for determining related HCC cells model. Methods: We detected the mRNA and protein expression levels of EMT-associated genes, including E-cadherin, ZO-1, N-cadherin, Vimentin, Snail and Slug in five HCC cell lines, using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction analysis, Western blot and immunofluorescence. Results: The mRNA of EMT-associated genes was expressed in all of the five cell lines. The expressions of E-cadherin, ZO-1, N-cadherin and Slug protein were detected in all of the five cell lines. Vimentin protein was found in SNU368, SNU739, HLF and MHCC97L cells. Snail protein was detected in SNU368, SNU739, Huh-1 and MHCC97L cells. Conclusion: HLF seems to display the phenotype of mesenchymal cells whereas Huh-1 and SNU368 remain the epithelial phenotype.

ABSTRACT

Objective: The effect of Liuwei Dihuangwan on blood metabolism during growth and development of rats was investigated by taking the overall metabolic profile and biomarkers of metabolomics as indexes. Method: Ultra performance liquid chromatography-high definition mass spectrometry(UPLC-HDMS) was employed to establish a blood metabolomics study method for characterizing the blood metabolic profile of rats at different time before and after administration. The pattern recognition method was used to integrate and analyze the metabolic profiles, and the differential metabolic markers related to drug action were searched. Based on metabolomics pathway analysis(MetPA) and Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes(KEGG) and other databases, the metabolic pathways related to differential markers were analyzed to study the effect of Liuwei Dihuangwan on blood metabolism during growth and development of rats. Result: Liuwei Dihuangwan significantly affect the blood metabolism profiles during growth and development of rats by regulating 30 blood metabolic markers and 12 related target metabolic pathways, and 8 key metabolic markers were delineated. Conclusion: Liuwei Dihuangwan can significantly regulate the blood metabolic network during the growth and development of rats, thereby affecting the growth and development of rats.

ABSTRACT

On base of traditional physiological studies, building a comprehensive evaluation system for the efficacy of Liuwei Dihuang Wan (LW) for regulating the growth and development of rats by indicators that the overall metabolic profile and biomarkers of urinary metabonomics. Sixty-seven day-old Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups that are the control group and low-dose, medium-dose, and high-dose groups of LW. At the age of 28 days, different doses of LW extracts were continuously administered for 16 days. On the basis of behavior, body weight, organ index and femur length, a UPLC-HDMS technique was used to establish urine metabolomics method to characterize the profile of urine metabolism before and after intervention of LW, analysis and identificate related to drug effects of differential metabolism markers, and study the effect of LW on the growth and development of rats. LW could improve the overall behavioral ability of rats, promote weight gain and the growth of organs and bones, and 36 differential metabolites and 13 target metabolic pathways of urine under the intervention of LW were identified, and 8 metabolic markers were regarded as a key marker that LW effect the growth and development of rats. LW has a significant regulatory effect on the urine metabolic network during the growth and development of rats. This study interpreted the scientific implications of the effect of "Nourishing Kidney Yin" on the growth and development of rats.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the efficacy and complications of small insicion surgical treatment and the routine microscopic surgical treatment for children with tight filum terminale type of tethered cord syndrome.Methods According to the clinical manifestations and imaging findings,a total of 43 children with tethered cord syndrome were classified into two groups.Namely the control group (30 cases) who underwent the routine microscopic surgery and the observation group (13 cases) who underwent the small insicion surgical treatment.The difference including prognosis,complications,hospital stays,size of the wound between the two groups were analyzed.Results The 43 children were followed up for 3 to 24 months with an average of 9 months.The results indicated that the postoperative effective rate of the control group was 93.3%,while it was 100% in the observation group.The difference between the two groups was not statistically significant(P > 0.05).The rate of complications of the control group was 6.67% whlie it was 0.00% in the observation group,and the difference of the two groups was statistically significant(P < 0.05).The difference of hospital stays and the size of the wound between the two groups were statistically significant (P < 0.05).Conclusion The small insicion surgical treatment could guarantee the surgical effect for children with tight filum terminale type of tethered cord syndrome,and it can reduce the surgical trauma,post operation hospitalization duration,incidence of complications and intraoperative scar tissues.

ABSTRACT

To observe the immunogenicity of hPDGF-B immunogens that were synthesized with the fusional expression vector pET28-Trx and to test the suppressive effect of these specific antibodies induced by both of immunogens on proliferation of human HepG2 hepatoma cells. First, we chose 2 antigenic epitopes hPDGF-BΔ103-118aa and hPDGF-BΔ152-167aa from human PDGF-B and inserted these 2 coding regions into the empty vector plasmid pET28-Trx, separately. Second, mice were immunized with purified recombinant proteins to generate polyclonal antibody. Then we intraperitoneally injected mice bearing hepatoma 22 (H22) tumor cells to prepare antibody ascites. ELISA and Western blot were used to detect the titer and the utility of the antibody, respectively. Finally, HepG2 cells were exposed to PDGF-BB protein or anti-PDGF-B ascite antibody in different dilution concentrations groups and the proliferation of HepG2 cells was quantified by CCK8 assay. As the results, we identified mice that could produce high drop of neutralizing antibodies against hPDGF-B induced by both two recombinant proteins. Two anti-PDGF-B ascite antibodies could markedly inhibit the proliferation of HepG2 cells by blocking the stimulating effect of PDGF-BB protein. Our results suggest that Trx-PDGF-B recombinant protein as immunogen provides a new method for the preparation of PDGF-B vaccine, and also a new idea for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma in clinical practice.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>BACKGROUND</b>High intracuff pressure can cause severe pharyngeal complications including sore throat or hoarseness after laryngeal mask airway (LMA) removal postoperatively. Though the application of minimum effective cuff inflating volume is suggested to maintain airway sealing and adequacy of ventilation for patients receiving general anesthesia with LMA at lower level of the intracuff pressure, it is currently not a standard care in most of the anesthetic departments. In this study, the minimum effective cuff inflating volume was determined for classic LMA Well Lead™ (Well Lead Medical Co., Ltd., China) and its impact on postoperative pharyngeal complications was also explored.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Patients with American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status (I-III) undergoing the short-duration urological surgery were recruited in this trial. First, the minimum effective cuff inflating volume was determined for size 4 or 5 LMA Well Lead in the study 1. Immediately following placement and confirmation of ideal LMA position, the cuff was inflated with 5, 7, 10 ml of air and up to 30 ml at 5 ml increment. The intracuff pressure, oropharyngeal leak pressure (OLP), and inspiratory peak airway pressure under positive pressure ventilation at the corresponding cuff volume as indicated above were recorded. Second, the enrolled patients were randomly allocated into minimum effective cuff inflating volume group (MC) and routine care (RC) group in the study 2. The minimum effective cuff inflating volume was applied and maintained in MC group, whereas the cuff volume was inflated with half of the maximum cuff inflating volume recommended by manufacturer in RC group throughout the surgical procedure and stay in postanesthesia care unit prior to LMA removal. The incidence of pharyngeal complications at 0, 2, 24, and 48 h after removal of LMA and other intra-operative adverse events were also documented.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The intracuff pressure varied with the cuff inflating volume in a positive linear correlation manner (Y = 11.68X - 42.1, r(2) = 0.9191) under the range of 5-30 ml for size 4 LMA. In similar with size 4 LMA, the data were also showed the linear relationship between the intracuff pressure and the cuff inflating volume (Y = 7.39X - 10.9, r(2) = 0.8855) for size 5 LMA. The minimal effective cuff inflating volume for size 4 or 5 LMA was 7-9 ml in combination of considering OLP needed to maintain airway sealing during intermittently positive pressure ventilation. The intracuff pressure in MC group was lower compared with RC group (63.0 ± 3.7 vs. 126.4 ± 24.0 cmH2O for size 4 LMA; 55.6 ± 2.4 vs. 138.5± 26.8 cmH2O for size 5 LMA; P < 0.0001). The incidence of pharyngeal adverse events was lower in MC group versus the RC group at 2, 24 h after LMA removal.</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>The relationship between the cuff inflating volume and the intracuff pressure for size 4 or 5 LMA Well Lead(TM) is in a linear correlation manner at the range of 5-30 ml. The minimal cuff inflating volume is adequate for satisfactory airway sealing and consequently associated with lower incidence of postoperative pharyngeal complications for LMA Well Lead.™.</p>

ABSTRACT

The medicinal fungi, which are of great importance in traditional medicine, are facing the problems of wild resources scarcity and low concentration of bioactive compounds. Velvet family and LaeA global regulator play a vital role in secondary metabolism and developmental programs, which are found in a wide variety of fungi ranging from Chytridiomycota to Basidiomycota. This review elaborates the structures and functions between Velvet family and LaeA protein. The Velvet family which shares the Velvet protein domain, including VeA (Velvet), VelB (Velvet like B), VosA (viability of spores A) and VelC (Velvet like C), acts on the regulation function is secondary metabolism and developmental programs such as asexual and sexual development. Furthermore, the function is affected by environmental factors such as light and temperature. LaeA protein which owns S-adenosylmethionine-dependent methyltransferase domain, coordinately regulates development and secondary metabolism by regulating and modifying the Velvet proteins. The regulation of LaeA is mediated by light receptor proteins. Therefore, clarifying the mechanism of Velvet and LaeA proteins in medicinal fungi will pave the way for nurturing medicinal fungi and improving production of bioactive compounds.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To study the expression changes of neuroglobin in rats with the model of diffuse traumatic brain injury and explore the relationship between the neuroglobin and neuron apoptosis in traumatic brain injury.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>The diffuse traumatic brain injury of rats was induced by the Marmarou's 'weight-drop' device. And the immunohistochemical technique was used to detect the expression changes of neuroglobin and neuron apoptosis in rat brain at different time points post-injury.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The expression of neuroglobin increased twice and reached peaks at 2 hours and 72 hours post-injury respectively. And the increased expression of neuroglobin from 30 minutes to 1 hour post-injury and from 48 hours to 72 hours post-injury accompanied with the decreased expression ratio of Bax to Bcl-2.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The increased expression of neuroglobin in traumatic brain injury informed us that neuroglobin had anti-apoptosis action in post-injury neuron. It could protect the neuron from traumatic stress and secondary ischemia and hypoxia insults during ultra-early and acute stages.</p>

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To investigate the constituent expression of PH domain leucine-rich repeat protein phosphatase 1 (PHLPP1) in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) and the effect of PHLPP1 gene transfer on the proliferation of the cells in vitro.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Cultured HUVECs were transfected with pcDNA3-GFP or pcDNA3HA-PHLPP1 via lipofectamine 2000. The cell proliferation ability was determined by cell counting and MTT colorimetric assay, and Western blotting was used to detect the protein expression of PHLPP1 in the cells.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>No PHLPP1 protein was detected in the non-transfected cells or pcDNA3-GFP-transfected cells. pcDNA3HA-PHLPP1 gene transfection significantly increased PHLPP1 expression in the HUVECs (P<0.01), but the cell proliferation status remained unchanged (P>0.05). The absorbance of the cells measured by MTT assay was 0.134-/+0.0152, 0133-/+0.014 and 0.137-/+0.016, with cell counts of (8.293-/+0.962)x10(5), (7.937-/+0.101)x10(5) and (8.127-/+0.112)x10(5), respectively, showing no significant differences between the 3 groups (P>0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>Phosphatase PHLPP1 may not be the most important signal protein in the regulation of HUVEC proliferation.</p>

ABSTRACT

Objective To assess whether the G870A polymorphism of cyclin D1 (CCND1)was associated with individual susceptibility to gastric cancer in China. Methods Case-control study of 214 individuals was conducted, including 108 controls (non ulcerative dyspepsia) and 106 cases of gastric cancer. The polymorphism analysis of CCND1 A/G was performed in blood samples by PCR-RFLP method. Results The frequency of GG genotype was 19.8% and 7.4% in patients with gastric cancer and controls, respectively. The risk for gastric cancer in patients homozygous (GG) for CCND1 genotypes was 3.5 times higher in comparison with patients carrying AA genotypes (P<0.05, OR =0.281). Furthermore, the stratification analyses showed that the male, elderly (≥60 years) or H. pylori infected gastric cancer patients who carrying GG genotype were more susceptible to gastric cancer compared with those carrying AA or GA genotype. Conclusion GG genotype is associated with increased susceptibility to gastric cancer in high risk area of Xi'an.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To prepare solid lipid nanoparticles (SLN) loaded tetrandrine (TET) extracted from traditional Chinese medicine with ultrasonication and high pressure homogenization, and to compare the physicochemical characteristics of the particles produced by the two methods.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>TET was incorporated into SLN by ultrasonication and high pressure homogenization separately. Transmission electron microscopy was employed to study the shape. Particle characterization system and Zeta potential analyzer were used to study the diameter and Zeta potential of SLN in suspension. The entrapment efficiency was determined with the high-performance liquid chromatography. The stability of SLN was also studied.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>TET-SLNs prepared by these two methods were sheet-shaped and irregular, but the SLNs prepared by high pressure homogenization were smaller. The mean diameter of SLN prepared by ultrasonication was (92 +/- 6) nm with Zeta potential of (-21.11 +/- 2.12) mV in distilled water, and the mean entrapment efficiency was 95.27%. The mean diameter of TET-SLN prepared by high pressure homogenization was (47 +/- 3) nm with Zeta potential of (-32.99 +/- 2.54) mV, and up to 97.82% of TET was incorporated. The diameter of SLN prepared by high pressure homogenization and ultrasonication were (52 +/- 5) nm and (168 +/- 12) nm after 90 days of storage at room temperature.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Compared with ultrasonication, high pressure homogenization is a better method to prepare TET-SLN, which is smaller, steadier and highly incorporated.</p>

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To investigate the preparation of solid lipid nanoparticles (SLN) loaded with traditional Chinese medicines by high-pressure homogenization, and study the physicochemical characteristics of the particles produced by this method.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>The model traditional Chinese medicines, silibinin (SIL) and tetrandrine (TET), were incorporated into SLN separately by high-pressure homogenization. Transmission electron microscope was employed to study the shape of the particles. Particle characterization system and zeta potential analyzer were used to study the diameter and zeta potential of SLN in the suspension. The entrapment efficiency and drug loading were determined with the sephadex gel chromatography and high-performance liquid chromatography. The stability of SLN was also studied.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The SIL-SLNs prepared by high-pressure homogenization were spherical and regular. The mean diameter and zeta potential of SIL-SLN in distilled water were 157+/-8 nm and -35.36+/-2.68 mV, respectively. The entrapment efficiency was 95.64%, and the drug loading was 4.63%. The TET-SLN was platelet-shaped, irregular and smaller. The mean diameter and zeta potential of TET-SLN were 47+/-3 nm and -32.99+/-2.54 mV, respectively, with drug loading of 4.76%, and up to 97.82% of TET was incorporated. SIL-SLN and TET-SLN had good stability.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>High-pressure homogenization is feasible for preparing SLN loaded with traditional Chinese medicines.</p>

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the preventive effect of spironolactone on hepatic fibrosis. Methods Ninety SD rats were randomly divided into three groups. Control group consisted of 8 rats that , fed by normal food, were injected with peanut oil subcutaneously. Model group consisted of 42 rats whose liver fibrosis was induced by compound factors. Spiro nolactone-prevention group consisted of 40 rats that were given 100 mg?kg -1 spironolactone per day, by the same methods of making models as those of the model group. At the end of weeks 2, 4, 6 and 8, 8 rats were randomly taken out of model group and spironol actone group and then were sacrificed. The expressions of TGF- ? 1 , PDGF- BB and ? -SMA in hepatic tissues were detected with immunohistochemical met hods.
